Writing Workshops
NEW CLASS: I am excited to be teaching a "Story Magic" workshop for 3-5 graders this winter for The Writers Circle!
I believe creative writing is an art! It supports literacy, sparks imagination, builds confidence and encourages self-reflection and expression. I would love to visit your school, library or community organization — in-person or virtually. I tailor workshops and talks to suit each particular class or audience. I often incorporate visual art, improv, story prompts, word games and more. In my classes, you'll find doodles, games, colorful prompts, improv, and lots of creative fun to help young writers discover their own stories. Some recent lessons have included "Word Trick-or-Treating" and Halloween short story writing, Blackout Poetry, DIY MadLibs, Magical Characters, and "Fun with Graphic Novels!"
